Here are 3 quick tips for taking better iPhone or other smart phone photos this holiday season!
- COMPOSING: Are there any natural “frames” in your background? For example, consider posing someone in a doorway, in a walking path, or under the arch of a tree. Also create depth by pulling the individual forward and away from the background by several steps.
- POSING: Lean in! Have your subjects lean in an inch or two from their hips, towards the camera. This helps to avoid extra folds around the chin, and unflattering angles for the face. Ladies, either pop the leg closest to the camera to shift your weight backwards, or extend a leg with toes facing forwards to elongate.
- SHOOTING: Shoot at the subject’s eye level! For most people, especially you tall folk, you’ll want to try holding the phone lower than usual. Tap on faces in the image to set the proper exposure.
Hope they help you master your iPhone photography skills this holiday season with the family!
