Once again, the year has flown by, and it’s time to start thinking about your family photo session for the Fall 2023 season.
We’re keeping a few of the tried and true locations for this season of Mini Sessions, but I’m also excited to meet you in a handful of brand new ones! Locations will span from West LA to Pasadena, with even one location in Huntington Beach for my families interested in an Orange County mini session.

Please remember, Fall Mini Sessions are just 20 minute teasers of a full session. Not everything can be accomplished in 20 minutes time, but together we are still able to create so many beautiful images that you’d be shocked and wowed, and that’s exactly what I aim to do! 😉 I like to offer these abbreviated sessions as a convenience for those who want “just a few” updated family photos to close out the year’s memories with. Mini Sessions are typically only offered in the Spring and in the Fall.
If you’re interested in a more customized photo session experience, please contact me using the contact form on my website here about scheduling a full hour (or longer) session to yourself. Locations and dates are of your choosing for these full sessions. And as much as I love running Mini Sessions, I just love having your family all to myself for a whole hour of creativity, more!
FALL MINI SESSION DATES + LOCATIONS
All dates are welcome to couples, families, and solo individuals:
SOLD OUT Friday, August 25 at Venice Beach | On the sand, near an area of rocks that are perfect for posing. And don’t worry, we won’t be meeting in the highly-congested area of Venice Beach 😉 Large parking lot located right by the beach for your convenience.
SOLD OUT Thursday, September 14 at Lacy Park in San Marino | Park location with woodsy tree area that gives all the holiday vibes you could ask for.
SOLD OUT Sunday, September 17 at Arroyo Road in Pasadena | I love this non-assuming location. We always create the most gorgeous images here among the leaves and trees, and can walk down a small pathway for a peek at the bridge view. Better for children who aren’t prone to run away!
SOLD OUT Thursday, September 21 at Pasadena City Hall | Classic architectural beauty with a manicured inner courtyard
SOLD OUT Friday, October 20 at Pasadena Trailhead
1 OPENING: Friday, October 27 at Crescenta Valley Community Park | We won’t be shooting on the green grass of the park, but rather in a more neutral toned, rugged back area. Pictures below are not of the actual location, but to provide a sense of anticipated foliage and tones in October at this new location.
SOLD OUT Friday, November 10 in a Downtown LA Studio | This natural light, white & bright studio has an adorable fireplace backdrop. Christmas decor will be included in the session, but it’s optional as a backdrop as we can also simply take your photo with the neutral, modern furniture filling the space. These sessions will be 15 minutes in length instead of 20 minutes, to help with covering studio and prop rental additional fees. Photos below courtesy of Peerspace.
1 OPENING: Thursday, November 16 at Lechuza Beach in Malibu | Beautiful beach on Malibu’s coastline with rugged hillside and a few rock formations near the water. Easy street parking, short walk down to sand via a staircase.

Photo Session Length: 20 minutes (15 minutes for the 11/10 studio session)
Group Maximum: 6 people
What’s included: The Ginger Collection
- 10 high-resolution, color-corrected, digital image downloads of client’s selection from a proofing gallery
- Access to alllll the lovely images from your shoot I’ve deemed as “keepers” (usually over 40 images!) for printing from your gallery (at additional fees), in addition to your selected digital downloads
- Private online gallery with access to professional print labs for printed goods of any images in your gallery (not just of the 10 digital downloads)
- $50 print shop credit for ordering prints or other tangible gifts and goods through your online gallery
Session Total Investment: $350.00
Options will be available to upgrade your Collection, for more images, or all images as digital downloads from proofing gallery.
Gallery Slideshow Turnaround Time: 2 weeks
Final Gallery will open within a few minutes after you confirm or upgrade your Collection, after viewing your slideshow. You’ll have 24 hours from the moment of clicking the link to view your slideshow, to decide whether you’re keeping the smallest Ginger Collection as is, or upgrading.
Should you wish to later upgrade your Collection, these will be the options:
Tuberose Collection (20 digital downloads, $100 print credit) = +$215, or $200 on zelle
Pikake Collection (all digital downloads, $150 print credit) = +$540, or $500 on zelle
Additional digital image downloads a la carte = $30/image
HOW TO SIGN UP
- Complete our “Mini Session Booking Contact Form” (released only to email list at this point in time, until released to public on Monday, July 17 at 12pm from my Instagram account @caitlinalohilaniphoto).
- After submitting the form, please check your email, and complete the steps to book by signing a contract & submitting the total $350 payment via invoice or Zelle.

SESSION DAY + POST-SESSION
- Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to your mini-session. There is no wiggle room to go overtime and accommodate tardiness as sessions with each individual/couple/family will be back-to-back.
- Photos will be shared via an online proofing gallery within approximately 14 days following your mini-session. You will select your 10 desired images for download. Should you wish to upgrade your collection for more images, upgrade options will be available in gallery.
- Final gallery of images will be opened within 24 hours of your Collection choice, then you can shop away with your print credit and choose your favorite images for digital download!

If you are unable to make your scheduled time slot, you must cancel at least 10 days in advance to be able to apply 100% of your retainer funds to a future full priced 1-hour photo session, other photo services, or a mini-session on set dates, within 1 year from the original mini-session date. Please see contract terms for full details. Prices of services and products in galleries are subject to change at any time.
If 20 minutes isn’t enough for your needs, 1-hour sessions are always available as well. Can’t wait to see you this season!!
