Where did you get married and what drew you to your wedding venue?
We got married at Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Simi Valley, CA. We fell in love with this venue’s beautiful, natural landscape and the flow of the venue as we walked through it. It was also perfectly located within our hometown but still felt like an escape from the busy city. The cherry on top was that it had housing on site and was dog friendly!
What’s one of your favorite memories from your wedding day?
Our favorite memories from our wedding day were our first dance together and sitting at the sweetheart table listening (and happily crying) to speeches from our closest family members and friends.
Any mindsets that you would suggest a couple take into their wedding day?
The day really does fly by, so try your best to be present in every moment with your partner and all the loved ones you’ve invited to celebrate alongside you!
What’s one thing you wouldn’t change about your day? Or one thing you would?
As cliché as it sounds, there’s nothing we would change about our day! If we really had to pick one thing, it would be to add the extra hour to extend the day to have more time to celebrate with our friends and family (and maybe actually eat our deliciously catered menu 😉)
What would you say to someone on the fence about investing into their wedding day photography/photographer team?
It will be the best investment of your entire wedding day! Photos last a lifetime, and a great photographer will create a memory capsule of your special day. Whenever we look through our wedding album, we’re transported right back to our wedding day and can experience the love and joy all over again!
What is one piece of advice you would provide to another couple preparing for their wedding day?
Build positive relationships and trust with your vendors during the planning process! They put in a lot of work before, during and after your wedding day to make sure everything goes smoothly so you can have the best time. While wedding planning can be stressful, don’t forget to slow down and appreciate the process — all the love you put into it will come back to reward you in the end 🙂
